SPIDER PLANT- week of January 26th

Spider Plant Update 

January 26, 2011

-Although my placement plan changed I have not forgotten about my little responsibility. 

- I have placed it near the stairs so every time I walk up or down from my room it stares me right in the face and reminds me that I need to water it and take care of it.  

- I water it every four-five days, as it seems to take care of itself pretty well and doesn't seem to dry out quickly.  

- I have posted a picture of the amount of water I put into it every week, which also shows how the dark the soil gets!

---CHOOSING POT FOR PLACEMENT

Transferring of the Spider plant was actually quite difficult...

I am planning on making the pot more personal and artistic, but chose to transfer it for the time being into one of the old homemade pickle jars that my 

house has a large stash of in the cupboard.  

---TRANSFERRING PLANT INTO NEW POT CHOSEN

With a new pot in place I decided to transfer the plant upstairs where it has made its home. Although quite difficult to transfer, the spider plant with some dirt casualty made it into the new pot.  

---SUCCESS. (with some failed dirt on the floor/shelf)--otherwise= the plant now has a new home.
